Totem: Paper Wasp. Paper wasps are one of the few kinds of wasps who don't sting you, and yet people will freak out when they come near because they think that they came around JUST to do that very thing. Paper wasps actually will follow you around or come near you out of pure curiosity (wierd huh?). They are very unlikely to sting you unless you actually attack them.

Personality: Matchmaker absolutely hates for anyone to know her actual name, which is why she never gives it to anyone. It reminds her of her parents, so she's abandoned it. Matchmaker is physically quiet but if she she's something interesting in your lines (See: Powers and Skills) the people involved will hear her yapping away in their head. Asking questions and making comments about alterations, or just giving compliments. She has a horrible case of self hatred since she believes she's absolutely bad luck. This makes her believe that she's worthless (has to do with her history). She probably wouldn't be that way if she wasn't so lonely, and most people say that her loneliness is self-inflicted...but not according to her. Matchmaker will spend quite a bit of her time using her powers to peek into people's lines (lives) and this can get severely annoying. She dresses the way she does to compensate for her feelings of inadequecy, and her hair is always a mess because she spends more time staring at threads than taking care of herself. Also her outfit has a number of threads on it, for good luck (she thinks).

Powers and Skills:Matchmaker has some very interesting telepathy based powers. She is able to see the threads of fate that tie one person to another in different threads of color, and this ability is manifested as a translucent glowing eye. These threads will often give her limited information concering that thread. Like if one person is meant to murder another she'd see a blood red thread and it'd probably give her the reason why. Certain colors/threads (like love, hate, jealousy) she's actually able to pluck from one person to attach to another using her powers. She also has limited telepathic thought projection abilities when it comes to checking out threads. She has no other useful skills other than the usual checking items for spiritual energies.

History: Matchmaker is under the assumption that she was actually the matchmaking force that brought her parents together. They took one look at one another and it was love at first sight. They died from the plague when she was about 8 years old and this caused a bit of trauma in her. She actually saw the threads that connected her to them SNAP when they died. Since then she's wanted nothing more to do with them (I guess she thinks they did it on purpose? Like a rejection?). Soon after Matchmaker found herself fascinated by one of the Black Boulevard's kid's threads...and followed them. This got her mixed up with the Black Boulevard clique and she's been there ever since...knowing full well that she's only tolerated. One of her great sore spots in life is that everyone has a light pink thread that will eventually lead them to the one they love (no matter how thick the cord is <long love life> or thin <short love live>, except her. She doesn't believe that there is anyone destined for her like she was to her parents. In fact, she doesn't have ANY cords of her own leading to ANYONE after after parents died. This is the real source of her self hatred. How will she died? Who will she love? Who can love her? Does he have no friends? The feelings are so unsettling that she can cope except by writing herself off as useless. Someone did tell her that she is destined for someone on Green Street. However...she doesn't believe that. She would have seen the thread....

Right?

Quirks:

*Matchmaker is incredibly flat-chested. It's mainly because she has completely puberty yet (late starter), but she's still pretty sore about not being as attractive as some residents in Thista.

*Matchmaker is not above using her powers to cause harm. While she can't influence threads of Death she can cut the threads that don't lead to other people like "Peace of Mind" or "Great Health" to create effects even she can't be sure of.

*She is disgusted with the street kids from Red Street while simultaneously applauded their upfront efforts with the Zev.

*When she can't look at threads she will compulsively smooth out her clothes without realizing it.

*That hair band was her idea for taming her hair. IT-DOES-NOT-WORK-MATCHMAKER! (puh...characters.)

*When she first joined Black Boulevard she would use her powers to break up couples on the street almost sadistically until Sheela reeled her in. Since that time she's become more humble...but I think she could still lash out at the world in frustration again given the chance.

*Matchmaker takes care of small basil herb garden on one of the rooftops. Why? Because she recalls her mother buying one for her father and him using it to cook. Matchmaker can't cook without setting boiling water on fire but she can recall what her father did to tend to that garden. She doesn't hate her parents...I think she just really DOES feel rejected by the fact that they died and left her ^_^;
